  2. I remember geese following a farmer on his way to the rice fields in Bali. He carried a flag that the geese apparently recognized, or at least that is what we were told. He would place his flag in a paddy and the geese would graze in that area until he moved the flag. At night (this was in Ubud in the 70s) the farmer would return home with the geese following. Your duclings reminded me of the story. Fun photos. –Curt

    • Hello Randall, thank you so much for your “like” and feedback! This series really struck something in me – nothing fancy or complicated, just good old-fashioned emotion (and childhood nostalgia) 🙂 It was really a lucky moment for me, the combination of little girl + cute yellow goslings = ❤ 😀

    • Hello Jean,
Thank you very much for stopping by and leaving a comment! I am so happy you enjoyed the baby goslings. I agree, it was a perfect ‘spring photo opportunity’ & I was lucky to be at the right place at the right time 😀
      With warm regards,
      Takami

    • Thank you very much Maria 🙂
It may be the first time I became so excited while taking the actual photos 😀

After posting a ‘gloomy’ picture yesterday, I wanted post a happier one to start the weekend. Wish you a wonderful weekend, too!

  4. Oh, what a delightful series. It’s such a happy sight indeed–and I love the story it tells. It makes me smile! I can see why you were so excited! What an adorable gaggle of goslings (I think). Nice work capturing these shots so quickly! 🙂

    • Hello Jeannie!
I am so happy if these duckies (oops…I mean goslings) could make you smile ❤ 🙂 I like to think that – usually – I'm pretty calm behind the camera, but I had a serious 'cute attack' when I saw these guys. My husband says he thought I'd drop my camera 😀

I don't even remember taking the actual photos, but thankfully my body somehow remembered to go through the motions. And my camera did most of the work, as always 😉

      Thank you for your comment!

  5. Yes, they are adorable! I disagree with Earl (above), though. I like the first shot best — just a gaggle of baby ducks on a sidewalk!

Incidentally, how did they get there? And so many? Fourteen in the top shot, counting one beak. These must be the offspring of more than one mama duck!

By the way, are they ducklings, or goslings??? Not that it matters. Thumbs up!!!

    • Oh Nina, thank you so much for your “like” and comment 😀 ❤ I too am divided over which is my favorite snapshot, because I like each for different reasons 🙂

To answer your question, yes, these are goslings (!). The zoo I visited on this day (the same zoo where my favorite white tiger family resides) has a Chinese goose exhibit, and I assume some of the geese decided to have kids (or, most likely, it was planned out by the zoo) 😉 Naturally the goslings were not on display, but as the end of the day drew near, they were returning to their home (I think). I just happened to be at the right place at the right time 😀

Thank you again, for the thumbs-up.

    • Thank you very much Earl! I was hoping you’d have a chance to see this 🙂

I was at one of my favorite zoos, and the day was drawing to a close. Suddenly (before I knew it) I was treated to this divine sight. It was completely unexpected, and I nearly dropped my camera – because I was so excited and overcome by “Awwwww.” 😀

Thank you again, and have a lovely weekend!
