  1. Wow, could really use some of that around here now (considering it’s December). The shots are great. I really like the one with the bee right inside the flower. Cool. Take care.

    • I wish these Cosmos were still in bloom here too! I assume different areas of the world will have different flowering seasons, but Cosmos are ‘autumn’ flowers here, and a real treat, with their bright pink colours. I’m glad you enjoyed these shots, and appreciate your comment! 🙂

  2. I just have to say that when I got up on this cold morning and saw these beautiful pink flowers — well, they made me extremely happy and warm! Thank you for capturing such natural beauty.

    • Hi Deb,
Wow, you’ve made my evening with your lovely comment 🙂 It’s getting quite chilly here too, I can’t believe these flowers were showing off their colours less than 2 months ago! As always, thank you for your comment 😀

  3. Beautiful photos Takami, the first one and last one are the ones that really capture my eye… The processing and DOF of the first shot makes it so perfect. Cheers to a great weekend!

    • Aw, shucks, you’re too kind 🙂
As mentioned in the other comments (sorry if redundant) it was my first time to photograph Cosmos flowers, and having seen so many amazing flower photos out there, I wasn’t sure if/how I’d be able to come up with something that’s even a little ‘unique’ or different. In the end, I just decided to do it by instinct and see how things go. I’m really glad I tried, and thrilled at the overall positive response 🙂

    • You’re too kind!! 😀 😀

  4. Beautiful! Interesting point of focus; usually people focus on things in the foreground and blur out the background but this is the other way round – it’s cool because it’s like there’s a frame around the flowers that the focus is on XD Lovely photo.

  5. I love Cosmos! You captured their bright, happy personalities perfectly. I especially adore the vibrant pink colour in this series (when I was a child, this was my favourite colour of wax crayon). And I love seeing the bee! It’s wonderful to see flowers in bloom, as ours are long gone. Flowers are such joyful things. A beautiful, happy series, Takami! Wishing you and your husband a wonderful day! :)))

    • Hello Jeannie!!
When I saw/made these photos, I knew I had to dedicate them to you. You always inspire me with your beautiful photography & writing, and I love how you capture flowers in all their natural glory! I loved the vibrant pink colour as a child too! 🙂

The bee also reminded me of you (and…they’re so cute) and I hoped you’d like it. I am aching for a macro-lens, imagine all the cool things to could try with it! But it’s still a whole lot of fun using what’s available to me 😉 I love how nature makes such amazing colours, such perfection.

As always, thank you for your comments and I wish you & your partner a wonderful evening too.

      • Oh, my goodness, Takami! Thank you soooooo much for the dedication! I looked at your post first thing this morning on my iPad as soon as I awoke. I wasn’t wearing my reading glasses and I completely missed your lovely dedication! Please accept my humble apologies! As I said earlier, I love this post, the subject and colours are so “me”. And, of course, you know how I feel about bees. I am deeply honoured indeed! You made my day…. again! :))))

  6. Cosmos are splendid flowers of autumn, I adore them, I sow some in my garden.
Your photographs are superb, the last even more with the bee which gathers nectar and pollen.
Thank you for this series Takami.
    Have a beautiful day. Herve

    • Hello Herve,
Thank you for your comment 🙂
I love Cosmos flowers too, especially their colours. We also call them “autumn cherry blossoms” here. I was so happy to make photographs of these beautiful flowers for the first time. And I’m happy you liked the photo with the bee 🙂
      Wish you a great evening!
