  1. That’s an awesome capture, very impressive my friend. Thank-you for the visit to my page, and I’ll be popping back in here to see what you are getting up to. Thanks again.

    • Thank you so much for your kind words, and for choosing to follow my blog! I’ll be sure to stop by your wonderful site regularly too 🙂 I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday.
      Best wishes,
      Takami

  2. Such a sweet, adorable face! I’ve said this before, but your photographs are amazing! You capture the inner spirit/soul of whatever it is your photographing. Lovely!

    • Thank you so much for your warm feedback! It’s comments like yours that make all the hours of photographing worth it 🙂 It’s my sincere wish & aim, if I can convey even a small essence of the ‘spirit’ of what I photograph. It seems I’ve succeeded with this shot, and it’s the best ‘award’ to hear it from folks who view my photos. Thank you again, for making my day!

      • You’re most welcome! I should have made this comment a long time ago — I always admire your photos, but it seems I don’t stop often enough to say just how much. Have a great, productive day! 😊 Deb

        • Hello Deb,
          Good morning from Tokyo 🙂
Many thanks for your reply! Don’t worry, I completely understand that daily life can prevent us from checking the internet (and it’s also good to spend time away from the screen, don’t you agree?). Just feel free to stop by if/when you have the time. You’re always welcome here 🙂
          Best wishes,
          Takami

          • Takami, I guess I didn’t realize you are in Tokyo — how very cool! I will will continue to stop by your blog … love it! I especially like your animal photos, but no matter where you point your lens you make terrific photographs! 😊

    • Hello Sreejith 🙂
I’m so happy to see your comment, and delighted you liked this baby lion. I had a wonderful summer & autumn photographing baby lions, and loved every moment 😀 Again, thanks for your nice comment.

    • I feel the same way as you do (I wish I could bring her home with me…before she gets too big….)! 🙂 It was so much fun watching her enjoy her first autumn, and then pouncing on her brothers 🙂 🙂

  3. Oh, Takami! This guy is so adorable! I really like the cub’s purposeful and confident stride—you captured it perfectly. And the eyes really make this shot—I love those pinpoints of light in them. I know you spend hours getting these shots—hours I know you enjoy immensely and your own pleasure and focus translates into your fabulous shots. What a joy to see this magnificent new life experiencing its first autumn. Congratulations, dear Takami. This is a superb shot! Wishing you a very happy day, my friend! :))

    • Thank you so much for your comment Jeannie! 🙂 ❤
I'm so glad this photo could capture and convey this little lion's confident personality. She and her siblings were born in August (just a few months after the other 3 lion siblings I've been photographing all summer), and right from the start, it was obvious that she wanted to be the leader 😀

I know that lions in their natural habitat would not experience autumn (at least not the kind with falling leaves!) so it was a special moment. I was absolutely smitten the moment I laid eyes on her. She wasted no time exploring the world, inspecting the fallen leaves, and chasing after her brothers. It was one of my 'photography dreams' to be able to make photos of lion cubs in Africa…although Africa has not yet happened, I'm thrilled and honoured to have had the opportunity to see & photograph lion cubs right in my country. I guess it's true, when they say you can find opportunities for photo adventures right here at home 🙂

      • I really believe it’s true that opportunities will present themselves to us wherever we are. But one must first be open to them – and you clearly are! Opportunities presented and taken plus your amazing patience equals beautiful shots like this one! I look forward to seeing more. :))

    • Hello Herve 🙂
Yes, this small lioness had big courage and spirit 🙂 I enjoyed watching her explore ‘the world’ and experience her first autumn. Thank you for you nice comment always!
