I just found out that Horatio Spafford penned the words to this hymn after he lost four daughters in a shipwreck. I don’t think I would be able share his equanimity expressed in those lines!

I agree, ducklings seem like natural hams (pardon the pun) – as if they know they’re adorable. This little guy (gal?) was having a grand time, splashing around the pond, playing with his siblings, and chasing Mum of course 🙂
