    • Oh Earl, you’re too kind!!
I was really hoping you’d get a chance to see these (especially the first one) so thanks a million for your comment 🙂 🙂
God bless, and here’s to a wonderful 2015!

  2. Hi Takami, I have nominated you for the One Lovely Blog award. I learned from a fellow blogger to offer a bouquet of flowers for those who are not accepting awards or are too busy at the moment. Your pictures are so vivid I could touch the animals! Amazing!

    • Hello Jennifer,
Thank you so much for your comment, and for considering me for the blog award. Unfortunately, I don’t participate in the awards process, but I’m honoured that you liked my work and felt it worthy of a nomination. I really appreciate your thought, and hope you’ll continue to enjoy the photos. Comments like yours are the best award for me 🙂
      Warm wishes,
      Takami

    • Hello Ruth,
Thank you for taking the time to stop by, even when you have more urgent and important matters to take care of. Keeping you and your husband in my thoughts and prayers.
      Warmly,
      Takami

      ありがとうございます!この日、たまたま2ショットが撮れたので本当に嬉しかったです。親子・動物愛にジーンとしてしまいました(^^;)

    • Thank you Christy! I really felt strong emotion when I made these photos. I was very fortunate to get both shots on the same day, so it was extra special. I’m so happy that the b&w format is being well-received. While I love bright colours, there’s a soft spot in my heart for b&w.
      Wish you a lovely weekend,
      Takami 🙂

    • Hello dear Sophie ❤
It makes me happy to receive your nice comment 😀
I don't work in a zoo, but if they want to give me a job as 'zoo photographer' I would be happy to try for it 🙂 😉 There are some nice zoos near Tokyo, and many people take photos.
      Hugs from rainy Tokyo,
      Takami

  3. Both photographs are just so touching, dare I say, so emotional. I don’t know exactly what those monkeys are looking at, but it certainly has them deep in thought. Fascinating.

    • Thank you so much, my friend!
It means a lot if you found them to be emotional 🙂
I know it’s not considered ‘right’ to anthropomorphise animals, and I’m certainly no expert. But…I don’t think we humans are the only ones to feel emotions and (dare I say it?) affection/love. I know pet-owners would probably agree 😀

There was a bird chirping in the trees, and I think the monkeys were looking at it. I loved their intense focus! And I loved how both photos (taken on the same day) had a tender moment between Mum and child.

  4. As always, love the tiger photo. How is it that you are able to get so close to them? I am jealous. 🙂 By the way, I have had several blog followers message me about how much they liked your blog!

    • Many thanks Kathy! ❤
I am always envious of your amazing bird photos 🙂 I'd love to get close to these big cats, but of course it would be a bad idea 😉 I always use a zoom lens to keep a distance (and try not to interrupt what they naturally do) and keep hope they might come a little closer to the boundaries of the enclosure, or at least come into the range of my camera 🙂 I'm often outside for hours – in all kinds of weather – to try and capture a special moment, but it's so much fun and definitely worth the wait.

Thank you again, for kindly mentioning my site on your blog! It made my morning to know some of your followers enjoyed the photos 😀

  5. Love these photos, Takami! They’re making me miss our local zoo, which is closed during winter months. I want to try to get special permission to go there soon, though, because we now have a baby organutan — the only one born in captivity in the US in 2014. From photos I’ve seen, it’s absolutely adorable. Anyway, thank you for sharing these wonderful pictures!

    • Thank you Deb! ❤
I think it's a great idea to try and get special permission to go to your local zoo during the winter months. It never hurts to ask, right? 🙂 It would be good PR for the zoo, and of course a wonderful experience for you. I agree, baby orangutans are so adorable, and you would definitely make amazing photographs of it. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you. Again, thanks so much for your comment 😀

    • Thank you very much! 🙂
I loved this moment, because the baby tiger reached over to her mother’s face with her paw. And, her mother answered by doing the same. It was so tender ❤
      Best wishes,
      Takami
