    • Thanks so much for your comment 🙂 I’ve been following your other site (jensenempire2551) for quite some time now, and now I’ll be looking at ‘thisoldtoad’ as well. I enjoy your artwork and writing very much.
      Best wishes,
      Takami

      • Thank you, i do try, most about shit that happens around in everyday life.

    • Thank you Maria 🙂
There is a photographer here named Mitsuaki Iwago – he’s quite well known as a nature photographer & featured on National Geographic covers 2 times – and he had made a comment: “lions are ‘big cats’ and cats are ‘small lions’” which I thought was so interesting 🙂 I think I agree with him 😉

    • Hello Indah!
Thanks a lot for your comment. I’m so happy you like this photo combination.

  1. Absolutely beautiful pair!! Well, both are great at its own modesty, hence no comparison! Beautiful post my dear buddy Takami. ❤

    Be Bettr, Stay Bettr! 🙂
    Swetank.

  2. They make an adorable pair, and you did a wonderful job of capturing them both. Unfortunately, the comparison won’t last very long, at least not at equal size. But they still might make a good comparison. Have a great day, my friend. 🙂

    • Hello my friend!
As always, thanks so much for your thoughtful comments. You’re absolutely right, the comparison won’t last long, but it certainly was fun to give it a shot 🙂 Hope you’re feeling better 🙂

    • Hello dear Aquileana ❤
As always, I appreciate your warm and encouraging comment 🙂
I'm happy if these 2 'cats' can bring a smile to your face.
Wish you a perfect weekend, my friend.

  3. Hard to tell which “cat” is bigger, Takami, but the one thing I know: they’re both adorably sweet (ah, those faces!). And you can really see the link, the connection between the cat species, can’t you? Lovely photos! 🙂

    • Hello Deb and TGIF 🙂
Thank you so much for your comment ❤
I agree they both look rather sweet…I think I caught them in a 'good' moment 🙂
Wishing you & yours a wonderful weekend, and of course Charlie too 😀

    • Hello Randall,
TGIF! So glad you enjoyed these 2 cats. I loved their eyes too, so really happy if they grabbed your attention. There is a famous Japanese photographer (well, at least he’s pretty famous here…) named Mitsuaki Iwago – he’s been featured on National Geographic covers twice (!) – and he’s been quoted as saying the lions are ‘big cats’ and cats are ‘small lions.’ I guess I agree with him! 😀
Hope all is well in HK (you’re back in HK, right?),
      Takami

      • I like that idea from Mitsuaki Iwago, so true. I just returned back to Seattle from Munich and will be here through the Chinese New Year then back to my HK home 🙂 Cheers to you and yours over the weekend Takami.

        • Ah, now I see 🙂 I can imagine all the festivities that come with the Chinese New Year celebrations, so perhaps the peace and quiet of Seattle is a nice contrast. I’ve heard the northwestern region of the States is so beautiful, so I envy you have a home there 🙂 Cheers!

    • Hello Inger,
Thanks a lot for your comment! I agree, they are adorable in different ways, it’s difficult to pick a favourite 🙂 But I’ll admit: I love lions very much 😀
      Wish you a lovely weekend,
      Takami

  4. Good evening Takami,
They are both lovely, the cat and the little lion.
Thank you for these great pictures.
I wish you a beautiful sunny day from Villers Cotterets.
    Hervé

    • Hello Hervé,
      Good evening from windy Tokyo.
Thank you for your nice comments. I am happy you liked these 2 ‘cats’ 🙂
I love to see their similar nature 😀
Best wishes for a good weekend,
      Takami

    • Thank you Sreejith! I appreciate your comments very much. The two ‘cats’ seemed to have very contrasting personalities indeed. This lion cub, I observed for many months last summer, and he always seemed to have gentle eyes and mellow personality. This cat I saw at the zoo last week, and she seemed very cautious and guarded 🙂

    • Thank you friend ❤ I was hoping you'd have a chance to see this 🙂 I'm sure you recognize the lion cub (Kei-kun, my favourite cub), and the other photo I made just last week – it was a stray cat at the zoo.
