  2. This brings back perfect memories for the Easter weekend…we always were given chicks as kids. Your shots are nice and crisp, as if I could pick one of those little guys up. Wonderful.

    • Hello Randall, I hope you had a good Easter weekend? Unfortunately Japan (as you may already know) doesn’t celebrate Easter, so it was just a normal weekend 🙂 You’re so lucky, to be given chicks as kids! These yellow fluff-balls was taken at my favourite zoo. They have a special kiddie area where kids can spend time actually holding the animals. The chick was very soft and cuddly, and this one seemed quite a character! 😀 Hope your week is coming along well!

      • Ah yes, just like China ~ although HK always gets Friday and Monday & Tuesday off (Qing Ming festival as well), so quite nice. Beautiful shots and I think chicks and kids are a great match…

  3. Oh my gosh, what an adorable face! This made me smile first thing this morning, Takami! Thank you for taking these photos and sharing with us! Have a great, productive day, 🙂

    • Thanks Deb! As always, your comment brought a smile to my face, and I’m glad these yellow fluff-balls could cheer you up in the morning 🙂 Hope you’re having a good week. (I’ve been very behind on catching up with my favourite blogs, will catch up on yours soon!) ❤

      • Hi, Takami! Ha! I’m so behind on my blog reading that I’m just now getting to your comment! I do enjoy your photos so much! I feel as though your lens allows me to see other parts of the world I might not otherwise see — and I just love seeing animals! 🙂

  4. Hello Takami! I LOVE your little yellow fluff balls. I adore chickens and little chicks and have a dream of someday keeping a few laying hens of my own. These photos have rekindled that dream. Hopefully, someday, Calgary will become an enlightened city and allow backyard chickens as so many other large cities have. Oh, how I’d love to hold one of these sweet little guys in my hand. Excellent photographs, my friend. They are postcard perfect! As always, very nice work. Wishing you and your husband a very happy week ahead! :)))

    • Hello Jeannie! Thanks so much for liking the little fluff/fuzz-balls. I’d love to keep laying hens of my own too, along with a wild boar 😀 (A girl can dream, right?) I was unaware that Calgary didn’t allow backyard chickens. These little chicks were a special feature in the children’s area at one of my favourite zoos. They are every bit as soft as they look, and some of them – like this little fellow – have quite the personality too 🙂 Thanks so much for your warm wishes my friend. Hope you’ve had a great start to the week too.

    • Thank you so much for stopping by! Elizabeth is a lovely & talented person, and I am thrilled she decided to feature me on her post 🙂 It’s very nice to ‘meet’ you too 🙂
      Best wishes,
      Takami

    • Hello Jill,
Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment! I’m flattered that Elizabeth introduced me on her wonderful site, and thanks to her, I can also meet you 🙂 I hope you’ll visit again – you’re always welcome 🙂
      Warmly,
      Takami

    • ‘Fluffy cutie pie’ – I like it 😀 Thank you for your kind words. This particular chick has such a personality, it was so easy to observe and ‘catch’ his expressions ❤ 🙂

    • Thank you Maria 🙂
You know, my husband actually tried to put one in his coat pocket 😀 Of course, we were just joking – we wouldn’t steal the chick! – but…it was too tempting!

  5. This photo just screams to be made into a postcard. It resembles the greeting cards you see on a revolving rack at a grocery store. I wonder if the photographers of such cards make any decent money? I love the simplicity of the image. Well done! 🙂

    • Hello Bob,
Thanks so much for your generous comment. I’m flattered! 🙂 I recall seeing the revolving racks of postcards/greeting cards at stores while living abroad, and really loved looking through them.

Like you, I love all of God’s creatures both big and small, and this chick had so much personality that the ‘K.I.S.S” method seemed best 😀 This photo was taken at one of my favourite zoos. There is a special ‘interactive area’ for both kids and adults, and it’s great to see their faces light up.

      Best wishes,
      Takami
