  2. Simply stunning – as all your work is. A wonderful pleasure to visit your site regularly. and thank you for stopping by my website as you do. Best to you!

    • Thanks so much for your comment ❤
This particular Kingfisher has his territory in the heart of the city (Tokyo), and therefore seemed accustomed to humans – including photographers 😀

      Best,
      Takami

    • Hello Ben,
      Thanks for stopping by.
To answer your question, this moment happened by sheer good luck and coincidence. However, it did take a few hours of being patient (and keeping up “hope” for an interesting moment) 🙂

      Best wishes,
      Takami

    • Thank you Maria. It was a reminder (yet again!) how often most of us “miss” some amazing moments in our daily lives. Your work especially reminds me to look around and appreciate what’s around me 🙂

      Best,
      Takami

  3. Great moment with this kingfisher! Love this bird :).
    This one not be afraid.
    Nice photo and nice bird.
I look foward others photos ;).
We are in two differents countries and we can see this beautiful bird. I see him sometimes when I walk in Nature.
Sorry for my bad english…Shame on me..
    Have a nice day.
    Friendly, Lo

  4. Beautiful shot my friend, and the perfect explanation of why I still refuse to carry a cell-phone (smart or otherwise). There’s just so much of interest in this world to see, and very little time to see it.

    • Thank you my friend. Yes, yes! I feel the same as you 100%. Unfortunately my current work requires me to have a smart phone, but I make it a point to put it away in my pocket (out of sight, out of mind) when not in use. And I try to limit its use as much as I can 🙂

  5. Takami, it is a stunning image with a powerful message. I wonder, how often we miss beautiful things that could enrich our life. Thank you for this amazing work of yours.

    • Dear Inese! ❤
Thank you so much for your comment, and apologies for my late reply. Yes, it was a reminder (and hit close to home) how easy it is to miss some incredible moments in daily life. It is always a struggle to balance the ever-changing technology and stopping to admire what's around us. I am honoured you enjoyed this image.

      Best,
      Takami

      • Takami, I love birds, and I love your little friend Kingfisher 🙂 I just thought about all the people who are missing miracles and walk so close to opportunities and never know it 🙂 Beautiful nature is so close, and we are busy with our technologies 🙂
Have a week full of miracles! ❤

    • My friend Herve!
I am sorry my late reply. Yes! It is a “kingfisher” bird 🙂 In Japanese, we say it is a “kawasemi” (カワセミ). It is my favourite bird. Many warm wishes to you and your family 🙂

    • Hello Mr. Hien! Apologies for the belated reply. Yes, I absolutely agree with you 100%. It was a reminder, how easy (and how often) we can miss some incredible moments. I plan to post another “kingfisher” photo soon 🙂

    • Thank you Gilles!
I’ve had the good fortune of discovering they often visit a park that’s quite close to my company 🙂 I hope to share more photos of this beautiful bird soon 🙂

    • Thank you so much. It left an impression on me how both the Kingfisher and the suited corporate worker didn’t seem to notice each other. Yet, they did “pass each other by” and share an unknown moment together.

      Best wishes,
      Takami
