    • Who cannot love duckies?? And much kudos to Mama (and Papa) Duck for doing their best to protect their babies. I loved how the sakura petal is stuck on Mama’s ‘cheek’ – parents really are so busy 😀

  1. Well done my friend, and I’ll wager it took very little persuasion to convince the ducks to pose for this fine tribute to Mothers everywhere, on this their special day.

    • Thank you my friend. This mallard duck family was wonderful. They were completely wild, but it seemed comfortable with people – perhaps they knew that we humans were admiring them? It was during the “sakura” cherry blossom season last month, and the fallen petals in the lake made it very pretty. All decent Mothers and Fathers have my deepest respect – for doing their best to give their kids a good life. Wishing you a blessed week ahead!

  2. Takami, your photos, all of them through the time I’ve known, so cutting in detail and subject matter that I now run the risk of repeating my praise. I’ve run out of words. I can offer only an insufficient, thank you. Thank you for sharing these moments, heartfelt and captured by the eye of a great wildlife photographer.

And whether you’re a mother or not, I don’t know but have a splendid Mother’s Day, just the same.

    • Hello Peter, thank *you* for your generous words! It’s the greatest feeling to know some folks enjoy my photos. I do my best to make the most of each moment, to try and portray ‘nature’ as honestly as possible. All (decent) mothers (and fathers) deserve all the respect for doing their best to raise their kids & give them a better life.

      All best,
      Takami 🙂

    • Hello Mr. Hien,
I’m so glad you noticed the “sakura” petal on the mother’s cheek! For me, that was the ‘charm point’ of this moment. The duckling doing his best to keep up with mum, while mum is also very busy. I was mesmerized by this duck family for hours 🙂
