    • Hello! Thank you for your visit and comment. I look forward to following your photography and writing 🙂 I am glad you enjoyed our swallows. As you say, they are very fast, and are challenging to capture. I am very happy you noticed the second young bird at the bottom! I think you are the first person who noticed the little guy 🙂

      Best wishes from Japan,
      Takami

    • Hello Josh, thanks for stopping by.
Yes, it is indeed that time of year! Papa & Mama Birds are working overtime 🙂
I’ve been lucky enough to come across some really nice parent-chick moments.
Look forward to sharing more soon 🙂

  2. You’ve captured a piece of magic with this shot, Takami. It must have been exciting to see happen ~ and then, of course, the thrill to see just how well the photo turned out. Beautiful work, and I hope you are having a wonderful summer.

    • Thank you Randall – really good to have you stop by.
It was exciting to see it happen, but perhaps even more thrilling was to share the moment with some overseas tourists. Their curiosity had been piqued by the goofy smile on my face as I was focusing my lens. They politely asked me what it was I was photographing and I explained that Mama & Papa Swallows were feeding their “teenage” babies. At that moment I instinctively pressed the shutter (as I wanted to show them a snap-shot in real time) and lo and behold, it was a small miracle! Everyone was happy, and it was great to share this moment with my fellow human beings 🙂

It’s a very hot summer this year, but autumn will be here before we realise. I also aim to share photos on a more regular basis. I hope you are doing well too, my friend!

      • It is always a special moment when not only we catch something that is amazing and we feel good about it, but also when we can share it with someone else. The key to life is such discoveries. Hopefully your summer will cool down a little, and very much look forward to seeing more of your work. Take care Takami ~ wishing you well.

        • Apologies for the delayed reply! You’re absolutely right – there is real joy in sharing special moments with others. Especially when it’s good company. The heat wave continues in Japan — one of the worst in recent memory. Hopefully things will start to cool down soon.

    • …I first saw this on my phone so details weren’t so clear. Now when I when I look at it again on a larger screen, I see the mother feeding the baby while flying. Such an incredible shot!

      • Thank you Julie, for your wonderful comments! I’m so honored you took the time to view the photo again on a larger screen. Mama Bird was feeding Baby Bird a dragonfly – it was quite amazing.

I’m very glad to be “back” to blogging. I can’t wait to share more photos on a regular basis. And, I look forward to your memoir — I’ll find a way to get a copy in Japan 🙂

        Best wishes,
        Takami
