      こちらは「ご近所」の(若)キジたちです。野鳥たちが見せてくれるいろんなドラマ…一日中見ていても飽きないです。

    • Thank you dear Helen ❤
Pheasants are our national bird, but given very little exposure. These birds were in their "adolescent" phase, which made it extra special 🙂 The young male was hot-in-pursuit of the young lady…but, looks like she had other plans 😀 😛

    • Thank you! I’m happy you liked it.
They are a young (adolescent) male and female Japanese pheasant – our national bird 🙂 Pheasants are usually very shy and skittish, but I think these two “young ones” were too preoccupied with each other to notice me. It was great to spend a quiet moment observing them.

    • Thank you, Mr. Matti 🙂
I like very much your expression – they seem a speeding airplane 🙂
These are a young male & female of the Japanese pheasant (our national bird). They are usually very shy, but on this morning, they showed me a special dance 🙂

I wish for you and your family a happy week too!

    • Thank you very much for stopping by!
This pair of pheasants (Japan’s national bird) are in their adolescent “awkward” phase as shown through their feathers. (Can you guess by their actions, which is the male and which is the female? 😀)

    • Thank you very much.
I hoped you would have a chance to view this image 🙂
To me, it was reminiscent of a scene from a classic b&w film depicting a chance encounter amongst future soulmates…

This pair of pheasants (Japan’s national bird) were in their adolescent “awkward” change as shown through their feathers. Can you guess which is the male and which is the female? 😀

    • “Ships crossing in the night” — thank *you* for sharing this beautiful English expression. I learned something new ❤

It was a passing of adolescent female & male pheasants (Japan’s national bird). Can you guess which is the male and which is the female? 😀

  1. At first glance the small picture in the WP reader makes these two look like a jet plane, wings wide, a red vertical stabilizer, landing gear legs. But, then again, I am due an eye examine.

    Nice shot, thanks for sharing.

    • Thank you! I had hoped that this image would encourage viewers to “look again” 🙂 It was a sweet and cute interaction between two young male & female pheasants (Japan’s national bird).
