All very beautiful captures Takami. I see what you mean, there is nothing common about your Kingfisher, simply beautiful colours. I especially love this photo. What a beautiful collection!
Hello Ash,
I really appreciate your feedback! I am so happy you enjoyed our Kingfishers. They are so tiny (around the size of a sparrow) and quick, therefore easy to “miss” despite their brilliant colors. It’s always a treat to spot them. Thanks much again, for your comment!
Fabulous in flight capture. Great shot.
Thank you. As always, I appreciate your visit and comment.
wOw !!! 😍💜 Jackie@KWH

The pleasure is mine, Takami ❤ Arctic weather outside, but warm hearts inside! Hope you're doing well, as well 🙂 💜 Jackie@KWH

Thank you Anna 🙂
Amazing. Your photo stopped me to admire and study it for a long time Takami. Thank You.
Have a good day!
Hello Mr. Matti,
I am honoured by your kind words! This is a beautiful bird, so I am twice happy you looked at him for some time 🙂
I hope you have a good week!
The picture makes me want to see it in real life. In photography, beauty is not only in the eyes of the beholder, but in their photos too.
Hello Beth, thank you for your lovely comment. I do hope you’ll have a chance to see the Kingfisher in real life. They are beautiful birds. 🙂
We have them too, but just not dancing on the water that I have seen. They are usually posted on the tallest pole available just watching for a fish or maybe just to be admired.
I’m glad you have them nearby. Yes, most of the time they do seem to be patiently scanning the water for a fish. As for the Kingfisher in my photos, this particular fellow seemed accustomed to being photographed and admired. Others shy away from the camera – I can’t blame them 😉
This is really a great picture!
Kind regards, Franz
Hello Franz,
Thank you for your visit and nice comment!
I am happy you enjoyed this photo 🙂
Best wishes from Japan,
Takami
Another delightful photograph! They always make me smile 🙂 This morning I went for a walk in a town that is some 40 min drive from where I live, and I saw a Kingfisher there! It flew so very fast along the river. I appreciate the challenge of taking such photograph as these birds are very quick. Amazing job. I will drive to that town again, as soon as I can, and try to find the Kingfishers favorite places 🙂 I so want my own picture 🙂
Thank you dear Inese ❤
I'm so happy you could see a Kingfisher within a reasonal driving distance! I know you'll make stunning photographs of these beautiful birds, and look forward to seeing them 🙂
Thank you! I hope I will 🙂
Such an interesting and different way to capture a moment, thank you 😊
Thank you Sylvie! They are such beautiful birds, and I try to show interesting views of them 🙂

I have a reflection setting on my camera but nothing can beat the real thing
Thank you! The little stream provided a lovely natural mirror for the bird 🙂
It’s great when that happens, I do have some natural ones of trees over rivers. They are on our photo blog somewhere
Stunningly beautiful image, Takami!
Thank you! Really appreciate your comment, and very happy you liked it 🙂
Incredible! How did you get such a fast moving bird to appear so clear?
Thank you, Josh!
I spent some time trying to observe the bird’s patterns for the day, and tried to anticipate where/when he’d take flight. Naturally, I upped the shutter speed and ISO to make sure the image was crisp without becoming too dark. It also helped that it was a beautiful day weather-wise 🙂
Ah, I imagine that much of wildlife photography involves sitting still and observing the habits of one’s intended subjects.
Coffee helps too – especially during the quiet times… 😀
Haha! Coffee always helps! Does Japan have much of a coffee scene?
Tokyo has many coffee shoppes. Both “mom and pop” (which are always the best) and the standard mega chain stores 🙂
Good to know! I can’t stand mega chain coffee shops, but I love to seek out local “mom and pop” cafés when I’m in a new area.
SPECTACULAR!
Thank you ❤ ❤
took the words right out of my mouth 🙂
Thank you 🙂 🙂
Just beautiful!
Thank you! Kingfishers are beautiful birds, aren’t they? 🙂
