Love this 🙂
Much appreciated 🙂 ❤
Reblogged this on From 1 Blogger 2 Another.
Such a sweet picture, Takami. This big baby looks bigger than the parent 🙂 I didn’t know about these woodpeckers. Ours are quite bright colored.
Thank you so much ❤ ❤
Yes, this baby looked much rounder than the parent 😀 These woodpeckers blend in so naturally to their surroundings, many folks "miss" seeing them, even at a close distance.
We have some bright coloured woodpeckers too, but they have eluded me 😉 😀
This is a very lucky shot 🙂
Hello Takami.
Master shot! I could not imagine that they are woodpeckers. Thank You showing this photo.
Have a wonderful day!
Thank you Mr. Matti, for your kind comment!
Yes, these are real woodpeckers! This version is especially small, and their colour (brown) keeps them hidden from view.
A big surprise is – these tiny woodpeckers can also live in the trees of even a big city such as Tokyo (!). They are strong to adapt to many environments…
This was really special to see, Takami. In the western hemisphere this woodpecker does not exist, so what a pleasure to see this diminutive Asian woodpecker. Your photo captures such a sweet moment, and highlights the birds’ markings well. Also, you were able to express the tiny size so skillfully. Well done and much appreciated.
I’m pleased you enjoyed this little woodpecker family, Jet. Surprisingly, many are unaware of this tiny bird, because of its small size & the average person naturally imagines woodpeckers to be a larger size 🙂 However this particular bird is very tough and resilient and also quite vocal at times! They certainly have a big personality 😉
What a shot! Really brilliant!
Thank you so much!!
Amazing picture! Do you happen to know what those birds are?
Thank you!
These birds are “kogera” or Japanese pygmy woodpeckers. They are the smallest woodpeckers in my country 🙂 (They are very tiny, but can be very noisy – especially the baby birds!)
Best wishes,
Takami
Many thanks Takami! Then my guess has been confirmed! Lovely birds!!
😀

This baby bird was very vocal – he/she was quite hungry…
Such sweet and touching beauty. Thank you.
Thank you ❤
These are Japanese pygmy woodpeckers – the smallest woodpeckers we have here. They are tiny in size, but always "fighters" and very strong. I instinctively want to be on their side 🙂
Beautiful tenderness!
Thank you, Mr. Nico!

Beautiful! I think baby birds are always hungry! Blessings.
Adorable baby capture, he looks so happy to get his meal! I also find it interesting to see the parent using their tail to hold them in place on the branch to gently feed. A sweet image, Takami!
Thank you ❤ ❤

The baby bird was very vocal – he/she was quite hungry. Mama Bird was very busy… 😉
How nice, I wouldn’t have guessed they were woodpeckers! 🙂
So sweet – the baby still has its fluff!
Thank you Noelle ❤ Yes, the baby woodpecker stil had tufts of fur – it was very endearing. These are Japanese pygmy woodpeckers – tiny in size, but big presence 😀
Love is in the air…
Thank you my frosty friend.
Mama Bird was very busy 😉 🙂 😀
Seems so
What a fabulous photo, so touching, artistic, and perfect in every way! I like its subjects, its composition, its muted colors, and the wonder that it conveys of one of nature’s most beautiful moments.
Thank you Mr. Hien.
This is from late Spring/early Summer – the season when parents are so busy with “child-rearing duties…”
These are Japanese pygmy woodpeckers – the smallest woodpeckers here. They are quite quick and very hard to take a photo (at least for me personally). The baby bird was very vocal – he/she was quite hungry, and didn’t move till Mama Bird fed him. Hence, giving the opportunity to make this shot.
I’m very happy you enjoyed this image. This moment really pulled my heartstrings…
Lovely!
Thank you! These tiny woodpeckers are usually very quick, but baby bird refused to move until he/she was fed 😀
Aah beautiful birds and great timing ❤
Thank you my dear friend! ❤
