    • ありがとうございます!「水鏡のカワセミさん」の姿、個人的に大好きな光景ですので、皆さんに気に入って頂けてとても嬉しいです。

  1. I am blown away! Just blown away by these images! Gorgeous and perfect captures, Takami! Now darn it next Spring I must find that Kingfisher that has been avoiding me to show you. They are such wondrous birds, aren’t they? Incredible photography!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

    • Thank you dear Resa!
I had hoped to express both the adorable-ness (as this Kingfisher was still quite young) and the refined beauty that he had the potential for. I appreciate your comment & visit ❤

      Best wishes,
      Takami

    • Hello Inger,
Thank you very much for stopping by!
I’m happy you enjoyed the photos. These 2 shots were like a dream come true. And this young Kingfisher was a lovely “model” for the photo shoot 🙂

  2. Sweet Kingfisher reflecting just nicely 🙂 Superb photographs, Takami! He gave you such a great opportunity. Aren’t you friends after all. I think he is already used to your presence, and feels safe. Congratulations on the great photos!

  3. 水面の澄んだ静けさと鳥の表情が対比的で、静寂さが伝わって来ますね。
    鳥は、どこまで飛んでいくのでしょう:D

    • Thank you Tanja. I think it helped that this was a young bird, so still eager for some attention while being a step away from independence 😉 Papa Bird was actually not too far away, keeping watch on “junior” just in case 😀

    • Thank you so much Noelle ❤
I'm humbled by the warm reception. This young Kingfisher was a wonderful "model" and a very mellow young fellow! I was dreaming for such a long time to make these 2 images, I nearly forgot to press the shutter when the opportunity finally presented itself (!).

Wishing you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving holiday 🙂

  4. I love everything about this wonderful scene. The contrast between the small bird and the large rock and his grand surroundings… The colors… The lighting… His contemplative pose. Beautiful composition.

    • Thank you 🙂
I was dreaming and hoping to make these 2 images for a very long time. When the opportunity presented itself, I almost forgot to take the photo – because I was enjoying the moment so much 😀

    • Thank you so much Carol ❤ Much appreciated. These 2 photos were "images" that I've been hoping to make for some years. Recently, this young Kingfisher granted my wish 🙂 I am so grateful to the little guy.

      • Thank you so much for sharing this background story, Takami. Your attention to the beauty around you and the patience you practice waiting for the right moment are inspiring. Most amazing, though, is the intention to bring forth work that celebrates life in such creative, exquisite works of art.

        • It’s my pleasure, and I’m so happy you had an interest in the “background” story. As you know, sometimes it takes months or years for the right moment to present itself. I was ‘dreaming’ of this image for so long, that when this young Kingfisher cooperated beautifully, I nearly forgot to snap the photo…because I was enjoying the moment too much 😀

During these challenging times globally, sometimes, I feel we need to turn towards Nature and simply observe…
