    • Yes, it’s a Grebe! This particular type (black-necked grebe) visits us during the winter months. It’s amazing how they travel for thousands of miles across the sea. And I agree, it’s exciting to see them dive deep to find food. Thank you for your visit and comments 🙂

  1. Such a fluffy cutie, looking straight in the camera! We only have Little grebes, they don’t look much like grebes without the typical plumage, but the eyes cannot be confused with no other bird 🙂

    • Ah, yes, we have Little grebes too! As you say, their eyes are mesmerizing ❤

This Black-necked Grebe is a winter bird here, so it's really nice to see them during the cold months. I am amazed how these small birds can cross oceans 🙂

      • Yes, it is amazing. They cover such distances without a chance to sit and rest.
I went for a Kingfisher hunt twice this week. No sighting 😦 But there was a Robin who came very close to me. Next time I will have some bird food with me ❤

    • Thank you Donna! Black-necked Grebes visit us during the cold winter months, with their grey non-breeding plumage. They are so tiny, it’s amazing that they cross oceans. I’m so glad you liked their red eyes – I thought they are beautiful too. 🙂
