Kingfishers are one of the more elegant birds, and your photography does it perfect justice, Takami 🙂
Kingfishers are pretty incredible aren’t they? 🙂 It’s amazing to see them in action but I personally enjoy these “quieter” moments 😀 It’s amazing how you can stumble upon these birds even in the center of Tokyo!
I enjoyed the photos You’r one the few photos of the mother patrent(s) & chicks. We have a saying in the United States If you see a Cardinal a loved one is visiting you. I wish I still had my Cameras I lost all my equpitment & photos when I got placed in a nursing home. Do you have a collection of tigers? I notice one on profile photo & I love Tigers & the stelth, beauty & gentlness they have, with out remove their natural wild side.
Hello, thank you for your visit and comment. I am happy you enjoyed some of my photos, and the expression you have in the US about the cardinal is very touching.
I have a collection of “tiger” photos from some years ago. You can see them here:

Once again, thank you for your visit.
Best wishes,
Takami
You have such a wonderful gift for immortalizing moments of wonder and beauty, Takami.
Hello Carol,
Thank you so much for your kind words.
Comments such as yours encourage me to “keep up” with the photography… 🙂
Oh, I just read this! It is about kingfishers, in the beginning of the blog post. What a beautiful legend, I had no idea! https://thegardenimpressionists.com/2019/08/29/halcyon-days-swallow-little-swallow-roll-your-own-under-attack/
Thank you for sharing the link! I am so happy to learn about the origins of the kingfisher in the western world. The blog looks wonderful too. (I observed you made a comment on the article, so I also inserted a comment below yours! 🙂 )
I have never heard the myth before. I also didn’t know about the blue color!
Ah, little sweets! You two have a connection 🙂 Stunning picture, Takami. My heart melts ❤
Thank you, dear Inese. I appreciate your comments very much. I hope this kingfisher could bring a smile to your face ❤
He sure did ❤
Wonderfully beautiful.
Thank you so much. It’s always appreciated.
🙂
Adorable! 🙂
Thank you! 😀
You must have been patient to have been able to capture this beautiful moment!
Thank you! Yes, I had waited many hours for this moment. Therefore I was very happy when this beautiful bird finally came to visit 😀
🙂
Is this your secret hiding place, Takami, or the kingfisher’s? If the latter, it’s no longer secret, since you found it! 🙂
Hello Tanja, that is a great question indeed! I think the “truth” is somewhere in the middle – this little guy was in a very public place, yet stayed out of sight from most people. It was early evening and most photographers had already called it a day, so it felt like a private session 🙂
Good for you, Takami. It’s amazing how many people are completely oblivious of what is happening around them.
Awesome sighting and capture, Takami! Isn’t it awesome to get a closer peek into the life of our beloved birds?!! 😊
Thank you Donna!
Yes, it is exactly as you say, and I was especially attached to this particular Kingfisher 😀
What a perfect photo – the little bird made me smile immediately!
Thank you!
This particular Kingfisher had quite the personality and always seemed “at ease” wherever he was 😀
Your sweetness and kind heart show in every one of your photographs. This is so adorable and incredibly beautiful, my lovely friend. Thank you for making me happy.
Thank you dear friend.
As you know I can be cynical and angry towards humans, but nature helps me to regain some balance… 🙂 I am glad this image made you happy. This kingfisher always seemed to be enjoying himself 😉
Bravo…
Thank you!
Sweet!
Thank you! ❤
