Preening for all the world to see ~ this is why sometimes I really like solitude 🙂
Ah yes, we all need some self-pampering time! I was careful to not disturb this bird’s solitude too much 🙂
Hello Takami.
Wow. What a stunning shot! My hat!
Have a good day!
Hello Mr Matti,
Thank you! I am happy you like this bird.
I found information in Finnish language here:

I wish you and your family a good day too!

Black-winged stilts have a simple, refined beauty, and I am glad you agree 🙂
Yes, I agree.
What a charming image, Takami! It seems that all the birds are posing for you 🙂
Thank you Inese! ❤
I am just happy that these birds generously "tolerated" my presence for a brief time. I tried to not overstay my welcome 😀
Everything is so still in this image, but the tiny drops of water in the air tell the story 🙂 Simply beautiful!
Thank you so much again ❤
Such a well-composed image, Takami. The reflection is crystal clear and dreamy-like, and I like how the top part is blue and the lower part of the image is yellow. The different colours emphasise the contrast between the real bird and its reflection. Well done 🙂
Thank you, Mabel. I am pleased you enjoyed the image, and appreciate your comment.
Black-winged stilts are beautiful water birds 🙂
That’s a beautiful from me too 🙂

Love the water shake-off, Takami! And on one leg to boot! Amazing how birds can stand and sleep on a single leg while tucking & resting the other. 😊
Thank you Donna!
I agree with you 100%. And black-winged stilts have such unique beauty. In Japanese we describe these particular birds as the “lady of the shores” because they look very elegant 😀
Especially with those long, gorgeous pink legs! I need a pair of them!! 😉
I am envious of their beautiful legs too! 😍
Beautiful!
Thank you Brian!
Black-winged stilts have such a unique elegance. In Japanese we often describe them as “the elegant lady” amongst water birds, as the do appear very refined 🙂
