You caught the action!
It was a wonderful moment 🙂
Beautiful!
Thank you! 🙂
Seeing the chicks ride piggy-back on their parents is so much fun. It’s wonderful that you captured this feeding moment on top of it, Takami. You must have had a good hiding place.
Thank you Tanja 🙂
Yes, it is great fun to see the chicks climb up and or beneath their parents’ backs and wings. Very tender and touching. Fortunately, I did have a good hiding place and I was careful to not disturb them for too long 😉
Hello Takami.
How lovely and touching photos! I do love them.
Have a wonderful day!

Lovely
Thank you. These dabchicks are very charming birds 🙂
A remarkable quote, matched to outstanding photos. Excellent.
Thank you Peter. The quote touched me deeply. I feel that humans often abuse “family” and relationships for the worst reasons, and sadly, this includes blood relatives. Really appreciate you comment as always!
Such lovely photos, perfect for this Thanksgiving holiday!
Hello Mr. Hien,
I am so happy to see your comment. Thank you for spending a moment with this Little Grebe family. I hope you had a good Thanksgiving holiday.
Best wishes, Takami
Beautifully captured, love the second image.
Thank you very much Brian. Really appreciate your visit and comment.
Wow. How amazing – you must have sat tight for a long time waiting to see the tiny little baby being fed, and how touching to witness these hardworking and protective parents taking such good care of the young.
Thank you Carol.
I appreciate your visit and warm response to this series! It is as you say, I had to stay put for many hours in the cold and rain. But it was worth every minute. It was a real privilege to get a glimpse into the lives of this dabchick family. All the more so, because they had just survived one of the worst typhoons in Japan. Of course, I took care to not ‘overstay’ my welcome.
Thank you again, for your comment! 🙂
Best wishes, Takami
I can see that it was definitely worth it and a privilege as you say.
And I hope that all is well with you and your neighbourhood in the aftermath of the typhoon.
Super Pictures. Gratulation.
Thank you! 🙂
