    • Thank you Tanja 🙂
Yes, it is great fun to see the chicks climb up and or beneath their parents’ backs and wings. Very tender and touching. Fortunately, I did have a good hiding place and I was careful to not disturb them for too long 😉

    • I am so happy if these photos could bring you joy. Thank *you* always for your thoughtful and thought-provoking work. Please give the Chicklets my best wishes too 🙂
      Best wishes,
      Takami

    • Thank you Peter. The quote touched me deeply. I feel that humans often abuse “family” and relationships for the worst reasons, and sadly, this includes blood relatives. Really appreciate you comment as always!

  1. Wow. How amazing – you must have sat tight for a long time waiting to see the tiny little baby being fed, and how touching to witness these hardworking and protective parents taking such good care of the young.

    • Thank you Carol.
I appreciate your visit and warm response to this series! It is as you say, I had to stay put for many hours in the cold and rain. But it was worth every minute. It was a real privilege to get a glimpse into the lives of this dabchick family. All the more so, because they had just survived one of the worst typhoons in Japan. Of course, I took care to not ‘overstay’ my welcome.
Thank you again, for your comment! 🙂
      Best wishes, Takami
