Oh Takami, it is a Reed warbler! They are too shy for me to catch 🙂 But I have seen one this summer, and took a picture from a distance. Not good enough to publish, just to keep as a memory 🙂 Excellent capture! ❤
Hello Inese,
Yes indeed, it is a greed Reed warbler! It is as you say, they are extremely shy and very good at hiding (even when their voices are quite boisterous!). I am so happy you could see a reed warbler too – they really are amazing birds 🙂
So glad to see this springtime scene!
The great reed warblers continue to wake us very early in the morning with their boisterous chorus 🙂
Hello Takami.
Spring is wonderful time. Then birds sing everywhere and their concert is a great joy for ears. Your photo is so good that I nearly heard it singing. Thank you.
Have a god day!
Hello Matti-san
Thank you for your kind words. Despite the somber situation that we humans face, our bird friends continue to live their daily lives as usual. It gives hope during these challenging times. And, their “song” is quite loud too 🙂
Our best wishes to you and your family.
Just the sort of music we need during this time. From your photo I can almost hear the aria.
Hello Atreyee,
Thank you so much for your visit and comment!
Despite the global situation, our bird friends continue to live life as usual. It can be uplifting when things seem unbearable. Wishing you all the best – as always 🙂
What a soothing picture to look at, Takami. It feels lacey and fragile. Love it.
Hello Jolandi,
Thank you so much for your visit and comment. It means a lot to me.
Given the current situation and events happening all over the world, I sometimes wonder if it’s worth continuing with photography… But comments like yours encourage me to keep up with it – thank you.
Beautiful composition.
Thank you, really appreciate it.
What a lovely atmosphere you have captured in this shot.
Hello Sylvie,
Thank you for your comment. I am happy you liked it 🙂
🙂
I love all the new birds who reappear during springtime 🙂
Hello Josh,
Yes, you’re not alone! 🙂
It’s always great to see our bird friends again 😀
Another wonderful reminder of spring!
Hello Noelle,
Thank you for your visit and comment!
I am grateful to our bird friends for the constant reminders to appreciate the positives — even during the most challenging times.
Wishing you and all our loved ones a blessed, safe, and healthy week ahead!
Takami, your pictures bring joy to my world! Be safe and keep them coming!
Love the light in the picture Takami, Spring returns the light after the darkness of Winter, and your photo captures it, as the little bird drinks in the warm sun. This photo speaks to me of the next stage after the winter passes and we move forward into a new season of life, a bright new beginning, of hope and creativity.
Thank you Ashley, for your visit and comment!
The great reed warblers continue to wake us up with their boisterous “chorus” each morning. This fellow in particular did seem to enjoy the late afternoon sun while he showed off his warbling skills 🙂
Yes, I had hoped to convey a feeling of hope (especially given the current situation) with this image and very glad if you felt the same.
I just sent you an email – your wonderful bird book arrived safely! 😀
Such amazing details, Takami – a tiny bird with beak open, mid-song, surrounded by spring in bloom. One can easily imagine a silvery song and the whisper of leaves in a gentle breeze.
Thank you Carol❤️
The great reed warbler (despite its name) is quite tiny and blends in almost perfectly with his/her surroundings. In Spring, the males like to “serenade” the ladies with their bright orange beaks wide open — and quite a…ahem…boisterous “song.” 😀
This fellow was especially intense, I could not help but smile. I am always grateful to our surrounding wildlife for uplifting our spirits when most needed.
Wishing you and all your loved ones a safe and blessed week ahead.
Thank you so much for sharing information about the “great reed warbler” and your lovely story about this particular performer, Takami. 💜
Always beautiful your photos.
Good day.
Quarc
Thank you Quarc.
The great reed warbler is very tiny, but he has a very loud and robust “song” 😀
Bird seems so happy ;o)
Yes! He seemed very happy and very intense 😀
Very beautiful !!! 🤩
Thank you my friend! They are very small, very beautiful (and very noisy) birds 😀
Lovely photo. I’ll imagine the aria.
Thank you Derrick!
As these great reed warblers have quite a hacking, boisterous ‘song’ I have used the ‘aria’ as a bit of tongue-in-cheek 😀
But they are so honest and sincere and hack/sing their hearts out, so I cannot help but be charmed 😉
All best to you, Jackie, Nugget, and all your family.
And to you and yours, Takami.
A truly beautiful capture!
Thank you Mr. Hien. The great reed warblers have quite a boisterous “song” and they wake us very early each morning 😀
Wonderful Picture.
Thank you very much.
