Happy New Year, Takami!
Thank you Mihaela! Wishing you a wonderful new year too 🙂
Beautiful shot, Takami, the B&W create a very special sense of isolation ~ a feel that is appropriate for this year 🙂 Wishing you the very best, and a wonderful end to your summer.
Thank you so much Randall. This year has been challenging on so many levels. I am thankful to remain in good health, and our bird friends seem to be doing OK too 🙂
I keep looking at this photo, Takami, and waffle between seeing a bird and an elaborate log that looks like a bird. If that is what you intended, well done! If it’s not, I apologize for my inability to see clearly. 🙂
Hello dear Tanja,
I am happy if this photo is a bit unusual and hopefully interesting! I can imagine he would look lovely as a wood carving too 😀
Maybe that could be your next project, Takami! 🙂
Oh my dear, he looks gorgeous in monochrome too, Takami <3. Beautiful image, I love his pose. Can see that he is in control of his river 🙂
Hello Inese,
I agree, he is a beautiful bird and it shows both in color and monochrome! Thank you for your comment 🙂
The black and white creates such a different atmosphere compared to colour. Beautiful, Takami.
Thank you Jolandi. I have always had a soft spot for monochrome photography. While I love nature’s colours in all their glory, something about this moment made me want to present it in black and white format. I am glad you liked it, and hope you and your husband continue to take care.
I completely agree that some moments simply ask for monochrome photography, Takami. We are well, thank you. Hope you and your husband are too.
Some moment, a world, to cherish 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
Hello Takami.
You always offer us nice surprises when seeing your photos as today. Beautiful. Thank you.
Have a good day!
Hello Matti-san,
Thank you as always, for your encouragement. I am very happy if my photos can provide pleasant surprises, especially during these challenging times. Hope you and your family continue to stay safe.
I missed seeing your beautiful pictures. I have been away from my blog for a very long time. I hope and pray all is well with you and your family during this crazy crazy time. Take care.
Thank you so much for your comment and warm wishes. I am touched you remembered my humble blog. I also hope all is well with you and all your dear ones. Please do feel free to visit again – whenever you feel inclined 🙂
We are doing well. So far nothing worse than seasonal allergies. I am trying to get started on my blog again, for the upteenth time, :-). I want to catch up on all my favorites too. Your blog is one of them. You take such wonderful pictures.
Beautiful!
Thank you, I am very happy you liked it 😀
Welcome!
What a beautifully composed image, Takami!
Praying that you are all keeping well?
Thank you Dries! Really appreciate your visit and comment. Twice happy you enjoyed this quiet moment with our kingfisher.
We are staying safe, trying to be responsible as the pandemic continues. We hope you and your family are staying safe too.
Glad to hear that Takami and thankfully I can report the same.
Nice pic. What’s the bird? Ps feel free to share my comment 🙂
Hello Liam,
Thank you for your visit and comment.
This bird is a Common Kingfisher:

Hope you’ll stop by again 🙂
Best wishes from Japan,
Takami
Thanks Takami. Ok so kingfisher 🦅
Very interesting capture Takami, it is difficult to make out bird from rocks or whatever it is.
Thank you Ash. I purposefully left the environment as is. As you noticed, the Kingfisher, while out on center stage, still blends in with his surroundings 🙂
Beautiful!
Thank you 🙂
fluffy or a log or debris?
And a bird is there too 🙂
So there are two bords or just one fluffy bird? 🙂
Lovely reflection, Takami!
Thank you Donna! Wishing you and all your dear ones a safe weekend.
Same to you Takami!
Such an awe-inspiring shot for this Kingfisher! That reflection is perfect.
Thank you Mr. Hien! I really liked the reflection and the moment of perfect stillness. I am glad you liked it.
Great reflection…gives us two views for the price of one! 🙂
Thank you Mr. P 🙂 It did indeed feel like a good bargain 😉
Super …
Thank you!
