Oh Takami, I am so sorry I haven’t been around for so long <3. This year was very difficult, more bad days than good. Every time I saw a kingfisher, I thought of you. We have many kingfishers now, but they stick to the other side of the river. I can only see a splash of bright blue color now and then. This little guy in your photograph looks busy. What is that pink thing? A plastic flamingo? Whatever it is, the kingfisher ignores it 😉
Hello my friend! I am so happy to read your comment ❤
I am so honored you thought of me when you saw a Kingfisher. I completely understand, last year was a difficult year for everyone in so many different ways. Truly, it is an unprecedented time. Please don't ever feel obliged to see my blog. You are always, always welcome to stop by whenever you feel inclined – our birds will always be here for you 🙂
This little Kingfisher was preoccupied with fishing for breakfast. The pink thing is actually a "Swan Boat" in the lake nearby. I thought the angle made for an interesting shot. Please stay safe, and my best wishes always!
Thank you Takami! It is a very lucky shot. I love it so much, and I love your blog. I just wasn’t well enough to focus on things.
Hope your 2021 has a good start. Stay well and safe!
Wow! That looks like a scary buddy!
😀
just LOVELY, as usual; we took pix of glorious kingfishers @ Beppu, Kyushu island; we’ve been to Japan 6 times, we deeply miss Nihon, our close relatives and friends… ❤ my very best, stay healthy and safe!
Thank you my friend! I am happy you liked this photo. And I imagine you made many wonderful photos of Kingfishers in Beppu! I hope you can visit Japan again soon. First, stay safe and take care ❤
Beautifully composed shot, Takami 🙂
Great use of depth…
Thank you my friend 🙂
It provided a very interesting scene. I am glad you enjoyed it!
This shot is absolutely stunning, Takami. I like how you made the blue kingfisher stand out, even with a bit of bright pink in the background – these two colourful elements work so nicely to give a cheery feel. Brilliant photography and you should be very proud of your work.
Hope you are well and staying safe over there 🙂
Thank you Mabel. I am glad you enjoyed the contrast of the colors of the kingfisher and the bright pink swan boat. It really was a unique and interesting scene and was worth waking up early in the morning 🙂 Thank you for your warm wishes. We are staying safe, and hope the same for you and your family too ❤
Hello Takami.
What a great photo. It required more investigation and it was worth it. Thank you.
Have a good day!
Hello Matti,
Thank you for your kind words! I am happy you looked closer at this photo. We wish you a great week!
Wonderful photo. I really like the blurred plastic bird in the background. It works so well as a composition. And surely, the kingfisher is really amazing. They are such beautiful birds.
Hello Rabirus,
Thank you so much for your visit and comment. I am thrilled you liked this scene. This park has “swan boats” where visitors can paddle around the pond. However, it was very early in the morning (before operating hours) so a perfect opportunity to wait for an interesting moment. This little Kingfisher – while so tiny compared to the swan boat – contrasted wonderfully with the colors and I believe he knew he was being admired 🙂
Thanks again, for your visit. I hope you are staying well.
Wonderful 👏👏
Thank you Julie!
A good Halloween photo 🙂
Can I share my new blog with you? It will focus on highlighting ethical products for people on budget – I feel that it’s an important topic as we face climate change in the face of a pandemic-induced recession. https://ethicalbargains.org/
Thanks!

Thank you, I’m glad you like my photo.
I’ll take a look at your new blog.
Love, love, love this picture, Takami.
Thank you so much dear Jolandi ❤
Hilarious 🤣
Thank you 🙂
Beautiful bird! You’re a great photographer!
Thank you so much! I’m very glad you like this common Kingfisher. They are tiny, but very beautiful indeed 🙂
What a fun encounter, Takami. The kingfisher doesn’t seem overly impressed with its much bigger “buddy.” 😊
Thank you Tanja! You’re right, the little kingfisher didn’t seem to care much for his bigger buddy. He was too busy focusing on potential “catches” in the pond below 😀
So pretty the little bird! I love your photos!
Thank you Georgeta! I am very happy you enjoyed this little bird. He was a young Kingfisher, and it was interesting to view this tiny bird and “big” Swan boat. Best wishes 🙂
Thank you Takami, likewise!
This photo brought a great smile to me on a Sunday morning 🙂 Thank you, Takami, and hoping you have a wonderful November ~ take care.
Thank you my friend! It’s a real honor to know you enjoyed this photo. The urban setting made for a very interesting view. I hope you and all your dear ones have a safe November. I just viewed and commented your latest post, and will be thinking about it for the next few days.
Marvellous
Thank you Derrick, I appreciate your comment very much.
Thank you, Takami
A lovely capture of beautiful little Kingfisher Takami in a quite rested pose.
Thank you Ash!
The urban setting made for an interesting view. “Swan boats” are quite popular in city parks and this young Kingfisher happened to stop by very early in the morning, perhaps enjoying the view before business hours. He seemed quite content 🙂
Cute 🤗
Thank you ❤ I am very happy you liked this Kingfisher and "swan" boat 🙂
I admire your ability to take such great photos of birds. I struggle so much 🙂
You are so kind! I appreciate your warm encouragement. I believe you can take great photos of birds too. It just requires some patience and luck 🙂
One day maybe🙂

Adorable, and such an amazing capture!
Thank you Carol! Really appreciate your visit. Hope you and all your dear ones are staying safe. You and your country are in my thoughts.
Thank you, Takami. These are challenging times, for sure. As COVID cases continue to rise, so does the increasing threat of violence in a nation divided.
Hi! I hope you are doing well. Have a great day.
Thank you so much! I hope you are staying safe and well too ❤
ha ha ha, I like this humorous photo.
