Love these photos! What an amazing experience it must be having these cubs play with your boots (and even bum..hehe)!
Hello Inger,
Thank you very much for your visit to my site, and for your comment!
Actually, these cubs were playing with their zookeeper, and I was just photographing their ‘play time.’ 😀 I agree, it must be amazing for the zookeepers to have such interaction with, and caring for the baby lions. But, it was also amazing to be able to see lion cubs with my own eyes 🙂
I hope you’ll stop by again. You’re always welcome!
Best wishes,
Takami
So playful and wonderfully cute 🙂 Scheduled this one too.
Aw, thank you! ❤
I love the animal + human combination in this series, especially since the zookeeper seemed to take good care of the cubs – and not mind too much when decided to bite her and…well, be little lions 😀
Aww sweet baby, and I am happy he is chewing on the zoo keeper and not me. Those sharp little teeth look like they can hurt.
Again, I couldn’t agree with you more! 😀
These ‘kitties’ were already 4 months at the time, and they were certainly giving their zookeeper an exciting/challenging time! Fortunately, there were no casualties 🙂 🙂
Oh, Takami!! These are JUST WONDERFUL! So cute, so real, so playful and such authentic representations of the character of kittens, regardless of their size. My heart smiles… ❤ 🙂
Hello Earl!
Thank you so much for your comment, you’ve made my day! 🙂
I’m delighted to know you enjoyed this series. As you can imagine, I had a grand time admiring these big ‘kitties’ and they were definitely enjoying themselves too 😀 It’s an honour if my humble photos can bring a smile to your heart. Thank you so much again!!
I really can’t stop laughing, Takami 🙂
So funny these images are… and the last one, simply superb, poor guy indeed 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing …
Wish you and your loved ones, a Very Happy New Year 🙂
Hello Sreejith 🙂
Thank you so much for your comment! I am delighted if this series could bring laughter 🙂 I loved to observe these baby lions for many hours. They were enjoying the moment to the fullest, and having so much fun! I felt bad for the ranger (zookeeper), but fortunately, she seemed to understand the cubs were behaving naturally, and had a good sense of humour 😀
It was a real pleasure to meet you through photography this year, and to get glimpses into your beautiful country. I sincerely look forward to share more photo adventures with you in the coming year. Wish you and all your family a wonderful New Year too!
Thank you so much, Takami 🙂
People like you, with your kindness and appreciation really made this year, one of the best in my life 🙂
Hope we will all be able to share many more wonderful images from across the globe and lots of goodwill and positive energy 🙂
🙂 🙂 🙂
Many thanks again, you’ve made my evening with your comments!
Whao, pictures do tell more than words 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much for your kind words! 🙂 I’m delighted you liked this series.
“Cute kitty, cute kitty, AHHAAAAAHAAHAAA”
You could open a gallery. 😉
I love your caption, it’s perfect! 🙂
It’s one of my dreams to have a photo gallery. Maybe someday… 😉 Wishing you a happy holiday season!
Absolutely lovely, dear Takami…

Very cute! 🙂
Aw, thank you so much! 🙂
面白い!お尻まで噛まれちゃって。。!良いシーリズですね!
お久しぶりです!コメントありがとうございます。
この仔たちに噛まれたら痛いですよね、きっと(笑)
でも、本当に可愛かったです。
I’m pretty sure your keepers love you and your bites even more 🙂
Many thanks 🙂 I also believe the keepers love the cubs – and all the animals – very much 🙂
Love it! Your posts don’t show up on my reader!
Thank you, Rajiv 🙂
If my posts don’t show on your reader, it could mean that WordPress has ‘unfollowed’ me. I don’t know why, but it’s happened to me too 😦 So, I think the best solution is to ‘follow’ my site again… 😀
Wonderful shot!s I wish you a good evening
Thank you so much! 🙂
How adorable to see them playing.
Thank you for your comment 🙂
It was really an amazing experience – and a lot of fun – to see them playing and enjoying their ‘cubhood’ 🙂
What a lively character and great sense of humor this little one has ~ and you have captured it all brilliantly in these shots. Wish you a great end of the year!
Hello Randall,
I’m delighted to know you liked this latest lion cub series. Yes, some of the cubs had great personalities, and I was fortunate to be able to record some of it.
Wow, it really is nearing the end of the year already. Each year seems shorter and shorter 😦 It really is a pleasure to discover your amazing work, and to communicate through our photography. I sincerely wish you a great winter holiday, and many more shutter moments & happy times in the new year too 🙂
Best,
Takami
Wish you a great end to the year, and of course a great ’15 as well ~ it has been great to have gotten to know each other via our passion of photography and look forward to what the next year will bring. Take care ~
oh wonderful!
Thank you so much Cindy!
It means a lot 🙂
Aww! I’ll take him home….
I wish I could send them to you 🙂 🙂
oooh…my heart melt, so adorable! I feel like cuddling them! Their behaviour just like puppy!
Thank you, dear Indah!
Yes, yes, they reminded me of small puppies 🙂
I wish I could cuddle them too, but of course I know it’s not allowed (and cubs may not appreciate it)…but, I gave them a big hug in my heart 😉
Best wishes,
Takami
甘噛みされてみたい、、、マジ噛みは勘弁してほしいですけどね
同感です!(^^;)
Oh my goodness, cuteness overload! 😀
Lindy
Thank you Indy! I’m so happy you enjoyed them 🙂 ❤
No! No! Don’t leave! I want to play! Love the little cat. Good thing he/she is still small. 😀
Thank you so much for your comment, and sorry for my late reply!
Yes, it seemed exactly as though the cubs were very reluctant to let their ‘playmate’ go. And as you say, how lucky for the ranger that they are still small 🙂
No need to apologize about the late reply. I am lucky to check my posts and comments on a regular basis. I am always behind reading them. I eventually get to most of them. Have a lovely week. 🙂
What a wonderful series of photos! made me smile 🙂
Thank you so much! I’m happy this series brought a smile 🙂 🙂
Ha…ha…ha! What a fun and playful series! :)) Thank you so much for bringing a smile and a laugh to my day, Takami! The whole series plays so well together and that last shot makes a perfect finish—it made me laugh out loud! It would be so fun to be that caretaker in there, getting to play with those adorable cubs. Fabulous series, my friend! Wishing you and your husband a very fun, happy and playful day! :)))
Hello Jeannie!
Excuse me please, the delayed reply! I’ve been away from the computer for many days this past week 😉 As always, I appreciate your comments, and if I could make you laugh out loud, then I really feel like it was all worth it. The cubs were thoroughly enjoying themselves, and the caretaker was a very good sport about it. Obviously, she was making the most of each moment too, as it would be impossible to play in the same way once the cubs get bigger – and oh, they do grow so quickly.
Hope you’re having a great week!
Takami 🙂
hahaha, the last picture is hilarious !!!! thanks for sharing them 🙂
Thank you always, for your kind words 🙂
I’m glad you liked the last shot, I was laughing as I made the photo 😀
Good evening Takami,
It is famished this small lion or then,
it plays with its guard, I like your photographs.
Thank you.
Have a beautiful day.
Herve

Hello Takami.
It is not serious for your delay.
Thank you very much, the small lions are splendid.
Have a beautiful day.
Herve
Yay! More lion cub pictures. Thanks for posting!
Hello Kathy,
Many thanks for your comment, and apologies for my late reply.
I’m thrilled you liked this latest lion cubs series. I love lions, and there can never be too many cub photos, in my humble opinion 😉
Your beautiful bird photography is always a big inspiration for me 🙂
Warmly,
Takami
So cute! So adorable!
Thank you very much! The cubs are so naturally cute, I could watch them all day and never get bored 🙂
soooo cute …. that cub knows exactly where to bite! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Thank you!! Yes, cubs know where to bite, LOL 😀
And please excuse my late reply, I’ve been trying to catch up with so many things this week…
no problem, Takami! have a good week! 🙂

Thank you buddy! 🙂

hi ibara,
i noticed your blog features a lot of lion cub photos.
how do you get to photograph all these cute and huggable little cubs?
ken
Hello Ken,
Thank you so much for your comments (I’m delighted you’re enjoying the lion cubs photos) and apologies for my late response.
To answer your question, these cubs were born at a safari park (Fuji Safari Park – the first safari park in Japan, and about 3 hours from Tokyo), and I was fortunate enough to visit (and re-visit) them many times over the summer & autumn. Naturally, lion cubs are not born all the time, so there was a lot of good luck involved as well!
Best wishes,
Takami
hi takami,
no worries. you certainly did a good job photographing them little cubs (did you get them to pose for you 🙂 ) , their tenderness, cuteness and playfulness come across beautifully in your photos.
best regards,
ken
Hello Ken-san,
Thank you very much again 🙂
I wish I could pose the cubs, but I realise that – like humans – I can never get them to do something unless they do it of their own free will 😉
I don’t mean to self-promote, but my newest blog post shows Sumatran tiger babies. I had the good fortune to photograph them – with their stunning mother – at a nearby zoo, and will introduce more of them in the coming weeks.
Wishing you and your wife a wonderful holiday season!
Takami 🙂
i wish you a wonderful christmas and a happy new year too, takami-san.
happy holidays.

What adorable felines! And what great photos, Takami! I so envy you that you have such wonderful access to them. We have a children’s zoo in my city, and I want to see if they’ll let me come over (the zoo is closed now for the season) to see, take photos, and write about the new baby orangutan that was just born (the only one born in a zoo in 2014). You’re photos are such an inspiration!
Thank you so much Deb! And apologies for my late reply.
I humbly think it’s a great idea to approach the children’s zoo and see if they can let you take some photos, especially of the baby orangutan. I can imagine it would be a great fun for you, and nice publicity for the zoo 🙂 I would be very, very keen to see your zoo photos. As always, I appreciate your comments. They in turn inspire me to keep up with my photography.
Warmly,
Takami
Amazing shots my friend. Lucky for the ranger that they’re still young.
Thank you very much David, and please excuse my belated reply.
I’m delighted you enjoyed this series, and I agree, how lucky for the ranger that they’re still young. I imagine rangers would not want to share the same space with these ‘cats’ in just a few months 😉 🙂
Best wishes,
Takami
So adorable ❤ Great shots!
Thank you! These cubs are so full of energy, I can watch them all day and never feel bored 🙂 😀
I like very much.
When I see your picture I remember my cat (not the same 😉 ) when she bite me, because she does not hurt and she tickles me 😉
Thank you, dear Yoshimi 🙂
I’m sorry for my late comment. But I’m happy this photo reminds you of your cat 🙂 I loved to see these ‘big cats’ show affection to the zookeeper 😉
You’re welcome Takami.
Yes, this big cat remember mine, but the mine sleep with me 😉
Have a nice day my friend 😀
かわいいですね。
二枚目の写真の目。何とも言えません。
それにしてもどんどん大きくなりますね。
